What is the Prosperity Council

The Prosperity Council of Waterloo Region is a federation formed to collectively create an environment that supports opportunities for prosperity in Waterloo region. The Council is comprised of representatives of its founding partners: Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, Waterloo Economic Development Corporation and Communitech.


Community Partners

Waterloo EDC is an independent, not-for-profit organization funded primarily by the Region of Waterloo and seven area municipalities: The cities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, and the Townships.

The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business to champion opportunities that drive regional prosperity and enable community prosperity in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Woolwich Township.

The Cambridge Chamber is a non-partisan organization, funded solely by memberships, working hard to address concerns of business, provide access to information resources & represent members at all levels of government.

Founded in 1997, Communitech is Waterloo Region’s hub for the commercialization of innovative technologies. Communitech has helped build a tech cluster of nearly 1,000 companies that generate more than $30 billion in revenues.
